Spanish law of succession referendum, 1947

A referendum on the law of succession was held in Spain in 1947.[1] The Law of Succession stipulated for the revival of the Monarchy of Spain following General Francisco Franco's death or resignation, allowing him to appoint his successor, and formally established the "Kingdom of Spain" in some formal contexts. The law also appointed Franco as regent for life until the throne was once again occupied. It was reportedly approved by 95.1% of voters.[1]
